Of the many features found on most models of Frigidaire self-cleaning ovens, one of the most important is the safety lock. When enabled, the safety lock prevents operation of the oven and locks the door. This prevents children from accidentally starting the oven or climbing into the oven, which could cause serious injury. In order to open the oven door you must disable the safety lock on your Frigidaire oven.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Press any of the buttons on the oven's control panel. If "Loc" appears on the LCD screen, the oven door is locked and will not open until the oven is unlocked.

  2. Step 2

Press and hold the "Clear/Off" button for approximately three seconds. The power lock on the oven door will retract, unlocking the door.

  3. Step 3

Grip the oven door handle and pull on it to open the oven.

  4. Step 4

Lock the oven again by pressing and holding the "Clear/Off" button until "Loc" shows up on the LCD screen.

Tips & Warnings
  • When locking the oven door, do not pull on the door for about 15 seconds after engaging the lock. You may damage the power lock feature of the oven if you open it too soon.
