How to Restore The Master File Table

The Master File Table, or MFT, is an index in the Windows XP operating systems that records where individual data files are stored on the computer's hard disk. If the MFT becomes damaged or corrupted, the operating system will not be able to locate and use the installed data files and may stop operating. You can restore the master file table using the Windows XP product CD.
