How to Finish a Knifty Knitters Project
A Knifty Knitter is a specially made loom for knitting, consisting of a plastic base with vertical pegs. Knitting is done by repeatedly wrapping the pegs with yarn, overlapping loops and pushing work down so as the layers of loops grow, the knitted project emerges from the bottom of the loom. Finishing these projects requires a slightly different technique as loops must be linked across the top of the project. Remove your finished product from the loom with these simple steps.

Finishing A Knifty Knitters Project
-
1
When the last row of knitting on your project is complete, ensure that there is only one loop left on each Knifty Knitter peg.
-
2
Cut the yarn that you have been using to wrap the pegs, leaving about three inches.
-
-
3
Beginning on the side of your project without the cut end of your wrapping yarn, remove the loop from the first peg using the crochet hook. The Knifty Knitter instruction manual recommends a size G or H hook.
-
4
With the loop from the first peg still on your crochet hook, pull the loop from the next peg onto the hook.
-
5
Pull the loop from the second peg through the first, then remove the loop from the next peg. Pull that loop through the loop from the second peg.
-
6
Continue the process until you reach the final loop, then pull the end of the yarn through that last loop. Your project should now be fully removed from the loom, with a finished edge running along the top.
-
7
With the crochet hook, weave the loose end of the yarn into your knitting to give you project its final finishing touch.

Tips & Warnings
Do not pull the loops too tight, or the finished edge of your project will not have the stretch that the rest of your work does.
