Instructions

  1. How to Cover a Blackjack Table

    • 1

Clear away dirt and dust from the surface of the table with a handheld vacuum. The wood should be smooth and free of debris.

    • 2

Using a pair of scissors, cut the carpet padding in the same shape and size as your blackjack table. The edges of the carpet padding should be even with the edges of the table. Lay the carpet padding flat on the surface of the table, and use a utility knife to trim away any excess.

    • 3

Lay the casino felt on the blackjack table, and trace the edges of the table on the felt with a fine tipped marker. Use a ruler to measure two inches out from the traced line, marking your measurements at two inch intervals. Draw a new line by connecting your markings. The new line will be two inches larger than the surface of your table on all sides. Carefully cut along the outer line with a pair of scissors. The cut should be as even as possible.

    • 4

Spray one side of the carpet padding with adhesive. Carefully turn the padding over and place it flat on the table, aligning it with the edges of the table. Gently press down on the padding to ensure proper adherence. Spray the top surface of the padding with adhesive.

    • 5

Turn the felt over and place it on the carpet padding, aligning the inner lines with the edges of the table. Smooth the surface of the felt with your hands to eliminate wrinkles.

    • 6

Pull the excess felt tightly over the edges of the table. Staple the edges of the felt to the underside of the table, starting at the corners and working toward the center.

    • 7

Use stencils and spray paint to create player markings on the top surface of the felt.

Tips & Warnings

  • Choose casino felt for your blackjack table. Although craft felt is cheaper, it is not as smooth as casino felt.

  • Select the highest quality carpet padding you can find. The higher the quality, the smoother the surface of the padding.
