Instructions

    • 1

Take a sheet of graph paper and set it on a flat, hard surface, preferably a desk.

    • 2

Draw a square of any size within the graph paper. This square will represent the parameter of the diamond plate you are going to draw. Make sure that all sides of the square are equal. Also make sure that all sides of the square are drawn using a line on the graph paper; this will make the drawing of the square easier. It will also help you when drawing the diamonds within the diamond plate.

    • 3

Draw a diamond within the square, on the top left-hand corner of the square. Use the graphic papers lines to guide you. The first diamond you draw should be laying on it's side. Shade the top half of this diamond.

    • 4

Draw a second diamond at a close interval to the first one and toward the right. This diamond should be standing upright. Shade the left side of this diamond.

    • 5

Draw a third diamond at a close interval to the second one and toward the right. Take care that the third diamond is at an equal distance as the second is from the first. This diamond should be laying on its side. Shade the top half of this diamond as well.

    • 6

Continue drawing diamonds using the same pattern established in Steps 3 through 5 all the way across the top of the square.

    • 7

Draw an upright diamond directly below, and at an equal distance as all other diamonds from the first one you drew on Step 3.

    • 8

Continue the same pattern established in Steps 3 through 5 on the second line of diamonds.

    • 9

Continue drawing diamonds in the pattern established in Steps 3 through 5 until the entire square has been covered in diamonds.

    • 10

Shade the space between the diamonds a darker shade than that used when shading the top or left-hand corners of the diamonds.

Tips & Warnings

  • Use the lines and squares of the graphic paper to measure out the spaces between the diamonds.
