How to Draw a Jungle Gym

When drawing your own jungle gym, you can completely customize the set however you'd like---an extra swing here, a longer slide there. Even the colors and interior design of the jungle gym are up to you. The key to drawing an amazing jungle gym is to use very steady lines and sharp, strong shapes.

  1. How to Draw a Jungle Gym

    • 1

Draw the "treehouse"-like structure of the jungle gym first. Toward the top of your paper, use a pencil to carefully construct a small structure with a roof. Instead of walls, use a ruler to draw multiple straight bars across each side, starting about halfway down the wall and continuing to the bottom of the wall. Make sure to keep one of the walls completely clear of any bars.

    • 2

Use the pencil to draw a slide cascading down the side of the house that doesn't have any bars. The slide can be straight, winding or wavy. Wherever the slide ends is where the ground will be, so use the reference when drawing any ladders or swing sets in the future.

    • 3

Use a ruler to create monkey bars coming from the opposite side of the house, away from the slide. Use the eraser to eliminate any bars that are blocking off the monkey bars. When the monkey bars have gone as far as you'd like them to, use the ruler to connect them to the ground by drawing in a ladder that reaches all the way to the 'ground', the same length as the slide. If you would rather have swings instead of the monkey bars, simply use the pencil to draw in four swings across the monkey bar set. Since the monkey bars were drawn in a side view, the hand bars aren't visible anyway and are open to interpretation, creating a great spot to add the swings.

Draw in a small ladder leading directly to the treehouse structure. Use the eraser to eliminate any overlapping or stray lines.
