Pregnancy and rapid weight gain are the two main culprits for stretch marks. Although there are a lot of stretch mark creams out there, they are often expensive, ill effective and contain dangerous parabens. Making your own stretch mark cream takes just a few minutes and is expensive. What's more, it's paraben free which eliminates any cancer risk associated with its use.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Opaque container with air tight lid
  • Large mixing bowl
  • Aloe vera plant
  • Olive oil
  • Vitamin E capsules
  • Vitamin A capsules
  1. Step 1

In a bowl, collect the gel from the aloe vera plants. To get the most from your plant (you'll need about 4 shoots' worth), use a paring knife and slice down their middle. Then, using a spoon, scrape along the inside to get as much out as possible.

Alternatively, if you're pushed for time, you can visit your local natural health food shop to pick up about a quarter cup of prepared aloe vera gels.

  2. Step 2

Now, cut open 4 vitamin A and 2 vitamin E capsules over the top of the mixing bowl. You might find it easier to pierce them with a sharp instrument, such as a needle or the edge of a safety pin. But - if you choose this option - please ensure that your implement has been sterilized.

  3. Step 3

Add approximately 1/2 cup of olive oil to your stretch mark cream mix. This should be mixed thoroughly and have an even, smooth consistency.

  4. Step 4

Put stretch mark cream mix into a sealable air tight container and refrigerate.

Tips & Warnings
  • Your stretch mark cream will last for approximately 2 weeks in the refrigerator.
  • Apply cream twice a day, every day to get the best results.
