  1. Step 1

Treat diabetes with chromium. Numerous investigations have demonstrated that chromium reduces insulin resistance and helps in the treatment of diabetes. It may play a role in preventing Type 1 or Type 2 (adult-onset) diabetes.

  2. Step 2

Improve hypoglycemic levels. Chromium is a necessary part of the metabolic processes that converts blood sugar (glucose) from the bloodstream into the cells to be used as energy. There is research that indicates that chromium supplementation in the diet may improve hypoglycemia, or low blood sugar.

  3. Step 3

Lower the risk of heart disease. Preliminary evidence shows that chromium may play a role in reducing the levels of cholesterol and tryglycerides. This would reduce the risk of heart disease.

  4. Step 4

Increase muscle mass. The most popular use of chromium is in bodybuilding. People who take chromium supplements have experienced increased muscle mass. Trial studies have reported lean muscle gain and loss of fat.

  5. Step 5

Alleviate depression. Chromium stimulates fatty acid and cholesterol synthesis, which are important for brain function. Chromium may improve depression. One study showed that chromium supplements were more effective than anti-depressants.
