A Mac computer's DNS servers can be viewed in the System Preferences menu.

Any time your computer is connected to the Internet, it is connected to a DNS server that translates the website URLs you enter into the computer's Web browser into the IP address that is required to locate the website. On a Mac, you can configure the computer to connect to specific DNS servers and, if you wish, you can view the configured DNS servers.

Instructions

    • 1

Click the "Apple" icon in the computer's menu bar and select the "System Preferences..." option from the Apple menu.

    • 2

Click the "Network" option beneath the "Internet & Wireless" heading.

    • 3

Click on the "Ethernet" option in the left panel. The DNS server will be listed next to the "DNS Server" heading.
