So...you've been given a job with some potential. Your boss likes you
and wants to see you be successful. You have the drive to move
forward. You're tired of hourly wages and a lack of respect. It sounds
like it is time to start building a solid career. Here's how I built
mine. I hope I'll be able to help you out.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

First you must find is a job that will allow you to grow. A
stagnant job that can never grow into something else is not worth your
    time.

  2. Step 2

After such a job is found, make sure to cover your bases, meaning try
to follow the rules and do the right thing. If you are constantly
grating against management and not following simple rules, rather than
advancing, you may be inviting yourself to be dismissed.

  3. Step 3

Become extremely good at what you do. If you become the "go-to"
person, it is very likely that you'll advance. Management will begin
to give you their work: the perfect bridge upwards.

  4. Step 4

Never forget the power of initiative. It is up to you to put the first
foot forward. It is your career. Make sure to make the most of any
opportunities that may fall your way.
