How to Measure Cubic Feet
Cubic feet is a measure of volume and is used commonly in home improvement and building projects for things like concrete quantities, airflow, and storage space. Measure or collect the data of the area's width, depth (or length), and height. For example, if you're looking for the cubic feet of a bedroom, measure the room's width along one wall, its length along the adjacent perpendicular wall, and its height from floor to ceiling.

Convert all inch increments to feet by dividing by 12. For example, if your room's width is 10 feet, 6 inches, divide 6 by 12 to get 0.5. Therefore, the width is 10.5 feet.

Multiply the dimensions to find the cubic feet. For example, if your room measures 10.5 feet wide x 12 feet long x 8 feet high, its total volume is 1,008 cubic feet (10.5 x 12 x 8 = 1,008).
