Step 1
Mix 3 cups of water with 10 cloves and a few broken sticks of cinnamon. Boil for 10 minutes keeping a lid partially on the pan.

Stir the mixture. Add some bits of sliced lemon and orange. Boil for 2 minutes. Then add 2 tablespoonfuls of honey. Keep boiling for another minute or so, until the mixture starts to smell really good

Add a bottle of cheap red wine and sugar to taste. Stir, and keep warm until ready to serve! Cheap wine is usually the best - don't spend more than $5 a bottle. Serve with a ladle into mugs. If you don't like having bits in, you can use a sieve or a tea strainer to filter out the bits. Always best served warm. It's a great drink to have around Christmas time, either by itself or with a hearty winter dinner, or with just cheese and crackers or fruit cake.
