Things You'll Need:
- A ready to publish book.
-
Step 1
First of all, you simply have to decide whether you'd like to compile your book into a .pdf on your own or to use an online publisher and distributor. If you don't know what I'm talking about when I say ".pdf" it's probably best to go the other route. Some popular online publishers include Lulu and Createspace. Both make the process simple and help you out the whole way, although you won't make 100% off the sales.
If you do happen to want to do it on your own, then you're going to need some .pdf software. This can get pretty pricey, anywhere from $30 to $250, but if you take your time and make it this way it can be well worth the cost. -
Step 2
Next, you'll have to get your brand new e-book out there on the web. You'll either have to use an online retailer or make your own little website for getting sales. If you happened to use Lulu or Createspace, this won't be necessary, as they'll pretty much sell it for you. If you created the .pdf file yourself however, you have much more control over where and how you can sell it.
To create your own shopping cart for your e-book through your own website or blog you might want to consider using either e-junkie or swpal. -
Step 3
Now, the best thing to do is to get other people out there advertising and selling your e-book for a cut of the retail price. These people are called affiliates, and many time's they are professional marketers on the web. You want these guys on your side. You can either recruit affiliates from your own website by having an affiliate page detailing the offer and some contact information, or you can sign up for a site like paydotcom or clickbank and find affiliates like that.
