Delicious chocolate fudge with walnuts

You're getting fudge for Christmas...I've got some good news and some bad news. The good news is, it's fudge. Creamy, chocolatey, nutty fudge, spectacular and only around at Christmas. Now for the bad news. 10 minutes after you open the dish of homemade fudge, it's gone. Your friends and family have eaten your whole Christmas present! Kinda sad.
This article will tell you how to give the gift of fudge as a personal gift and have it savored and remembered for a long, long time!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Decorative Christmas tin
  • Cute little knife
  • big gold bow
  • Fudge (recipe to follow)
  • Aluminum foil
  • Fudge:
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2/3 cup evaporated milk
  • 1/2 stick butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 1/2 cups semisweet or milk chocolate chips
  • 3 cups mini marshmallows
  • 1 cup toasted walnuts, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • Instructions:
  • Combine sugar, butter, evaporated milk and salt in a saucepan. Bring to a low boil and cook for 5 minutes or 235 to 240 degrees F. Remove from heat and stir in chocolate, walnuts, and marshmallows.
  1. Step 1

    Christmas tin

Carefully line the Christmas tin with aluminum foil. Make sure the foil lines the entire inside of the tin, except the lid. Fold the edges down so it looks very neat.

  2. Step 2

Cook the fudge as directed in your recipe.

  3. Step 3

Pour the hot fudge into the lined cookie tin. Pour leftovers into a buttered dish and give it to your family. Cool the fudge. Put a small decorative knife on top of the hardened fudge. Attach a sticker-type of gift tag to the inside of the lid of the tin, with a nice little greeting and close the tin.

  4. Step 4

Tie a big gold bow on the tin of fudge. Use a wire edged ribbon and fluff it out so it is really pretty. The lucky dog who gets this gift will understand that this is his own personal tin of fudge, to be shared as he or she pleases...(or not)! He can savor it by the lick, or by the chunk.

Tips & Warnings
  • There are so many varieties of fudge to pick from, and they are all easy to make: Chocolate, peanutbutter, white chocolate, buttermilk (my favorite, etc.)
  • For best results, use a candy thermometer.
