If you are planning a trip to NYC, you must attend a filming of the Late Show with David Letterman. You have three different avenues of getting your tickets. The first method is easy to do my your home computer. The other two options require you to be in the New York area.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

There are 3 ways of obtaining those much desired tickets to the Late Show with David Letterman. The first method is filling out a ticket request form at http://www.cbs.com/late_night/late_show/. You can request 2 tickets and may only request tickets once every 6 months. If you are so lucky to receive a call back, you will then have to answer a trivia question related to The Late Show. If you answer correctly, and you only get one chance, you will have your two tickets. If you answer incorrectly or do not receive a call at all, you have to resort to the second option of obtaining tickets. You must be at least 18 years old in order to receive your tickets.

  2. Step 2

Located at 1697 Broadway, between West 53rd and West 54th Streets,
you can visit the lobby of the Ed Sullivan Theater and hope this will be your lucky day. You can make a personal request anytime Monday-Friday from 9:30am - 12:00pm and Saturday from 10am to 6pm. You will need your government identification and personal information such as address. You can make a personal request up to one month prior to your requested taping. If you show up prior to 9am, you WILL NOT get tickets. Those who show up for requests will be randomly drawn and receive a telephone call notifying them of the good news. Again, this is not going to guarantee your much desired tickets to the Late Show with David Letterman, and if all else fails, you can try the last avenue of obtaining tickets.

  3. Step 3

Stand by tickets are your last resort now. The day of your desired taping, you can call (212) 247-6497 starting at 11am. If there are open seats, they will fill them first come first serve. Good luck and enjoy the show!

Tips & Warnings
  • Make sure you are prepared to answer the random trivia question if you should recieve a call from filling out the on line request from your home computer.
