How to Get Your Nokia Charger Exchanged

Millions of faulty cell phone chargers have been recalled by Nokia. The recall affects 14 million chargers, according to the Associated Press. Nokia has determined that the plastic covers of the affected chargers could come loose and separate, exposing the charger’s internal components and potentially posing an electric shock hazard. Nokia acknowledges that there has not been any injuries so far. Learn what models have been affected by this recall and what to do to get a Free exchange.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Check to see if you have an affected Nokia Cell Phone charger. According to the Nokia Site, the chargers were manufactured by BYD between June 15, 2009 and August 9, 2009. The charger could have been sold to you as an accessory or it may have come with your phone.

    Here are the model types that have been recalled:
    AC -3U
    AC-3E

    Also those manufactured by BYD between April 13, 2009 and October 25, 2009 and with the following model type AC-****.

  2. Step 2

    Go to the Nokia website where you can input your charger model number. (See resources at the end of this article.)

  3. Step 3

    Next enter you 27 digit charger identification number.

  4. Step 4

    Enter your details and get the verification.

  5. Step 5

    Call Nokia directly if you do not want to bother with the online return. Their phone number is 1-888-Nokia2U.

Tips & Warnings
  • Nokia has not stated if you should stop using the cell phone chargers, but if you have any concerns call your cell phone provider.
