Ever tried out a diet that just didn't work? Maybe it's hard to keep your goal in sight while you're starving? Read this eHow to find out how you can stick to your diet and lose weight quickly!

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Patience
  • Determination
  1. Step 1

First off, make sure the diet you're on is right for you. Consult a doctor, or see which diet you think is easiest for you to follow and keep track of what you're consuming.

  2. Step 2

Feeling healthy is a big part of sticking to a diet - choose a diet that makes you feel good physically.

  3. Step 3

Set realistic goals - determine how many calories/carbs/etc. you can cut from each meal and how much you can burn through excercise each day. That way, a clear number will motivate you closer and closer to your target.

  4. Step 4

Keep track! It's hard to know exactly how much you're losing and taking in unless you keep track of what is in your meals. Keep a food diary for the duration of your diet.

  5. Step 5

Two is company! Diet with a friend or join a club so you don't feel left out when other people around you are eating to their heart's delight.

  6. Step 6

Keep reminding yourself - a memo or note can really help - and that way you'll be less tempted to sneak in an extra slice of chocolate cake.

  7. Step 7

Don't forget to excercise - just cutting down on calories isn't enough. You need to burn them away as well!
