Step 1
Your profile photo is important on Match.com or any online dating site. Profiles that include photos get more responses. Some people won't even consider viewing a profile without a photo. A photo immediately shows off your personality and your looks. Physical attraction is part of love, so make sure your picture is up-to-date. You would not want someone to be attracted to the ten pound ,six years younger you.
-
Step 2
Online dating can also be viewed as a blind date. One of the biggest mistakes you can make is giving out personal information. Giving information like your first and last name, your cell, or home number is not a good idea. Anyone can use this information and find out where you live. If you are going to give a phone number, make it an untraceable one. Inadvertently or purposefully giving out a home address is never a good idea. Find public places to meet until you are confident about the person you are spending time with.
-
Step 3
Having common interests is wonderful, but don't insist your personalities be a perfect match. It should not be a requirement that you find someone who loves any and everything you do. Women and men normally like different things. As long as you have shared personalities and shared values you could be off to a great start.
-
Step 4
In order to get the most out of online dating you must be truthful. Saying your twenty-five and your thirty seven, you look like Halle Berry or Brad Pitt, but you don't, and you own a company but you're actually the errand runner will spell trouble. Once you meet someone in person, you will eventually be exposed. You will never find the perfect person when you're pretending to be somebody else.
