Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Nearby library
  • Helpful friends or relatives
  • Stuff to sell
  1. Step 1

My advice to you while earning minimum wage, is for your partner to get a job also. Any job for right now is better than nothing. This means more money coming in to help out.

  2. Step 2

Sign up for free breakfast and free lunch for the kids at their schools. At the beginning of every school year, public schools will send home forms to fill out from the government. Fill them out to get either free lunch or reduced meals for the kids.

  3. Step 3

    Go back to school!!
Apply for government loans enabling you to go to college for less money, free, or to pay back once you have gotten a great job.

  4. Step 4

Buy clothing at rock bottom prices. Shop at your local Goodwill Store, or Salvation Army for super low prices. Buy designer duds in expensive neighborhoods. People in upscale neighborhoods will donate their expensive clothing, and other items to thrift stores.

  5. Step 5

Frequent garage, rummage and estate sales to get low prices on household items, clothing and furniture. Look carefully at items you are buying, to get the best items that still work, aren't broken, or dented.

  6. Step 6

Scale back on utilities by turning off all the lights and turning down the heat or air conditioning when you are not home. Gather the family, and sit in one room, to scale back also. Have a family fun night by playing board games and read aloud to each other.
