A winter wedding provides a mystical and beautiful backdrop for brides in their winter wedding gowns. Many brides choose to wear strapless wedding dresses yet, for a winter wedding, there will need to be some warm attire added to avoid the chill in the air. Here are ideas of how to be comfortable for outside wedding pictures, and the entire wedding day, with warm accessories for winter wedding gowns.

  1. Step 1

    Be prepared to be comfortable and fashionable outside and inside by wearing the wedding dress of your dreams and using one or more of these accessories to keep warm.
    • A warm shawl with fur around the edges.
    • A wool or cashmere cape draped over the winter wedding dress.
    • Hooded cloak trimmed with faux fur.
    • A full-length coat in white or the accent color of the wedding party.
    • Short jacket with a fur trimmed color and sleeves.
    With any of these accessories choose color, to provide a contrast to the snow and winter wedding gown, in a deep hue worn by the wedding party.
    • Forego shoes and opt for a pair of lace up white boots.
    • Add a pair of long gloves to add warmth and glamour.
    • White ear muffs will keep you warm and not mess up your wedding hairdo.
    • Wear white tights instead on nylons.

    The bridesmaids, in a winter wedding, should be dressed to withstand being out in the chilly weather. Buy a short jacket, warm shawl, or a coat as their bridesmaid present. This will ensure that they are all warm, fashionable, and match.

    Winter Wedding Attire for the Groom and Groomsmen

    The groom can wear a full length coat to match his attire, with a scarf that coordinates with the colors of the wedding party. Remember to have gloves just in case the weather calls for extra warmth.

    For the groomsmen, ask them to wear a dark coat the give them a scarf to match the colors the bridesmaids are wearing.
