Things You'll Need:
- Rotary Tool
- Right Angle Cutting Attachment
- Lock Cut-Off Wheel Accessory
- Lock Mandrel
- Safety Glasses
- Rod file
-
Step 1
Remove everything from the confined area so you have enough room to make your cut. The cutting are should be clean and free of debris.
-
Step 2
With the rotary tool unplugged, attach the right angle cutting attachment and the proper accessories. Put on your safety glasses before you begin cutting.
-
Step 3
Plug in the rotary tool's power cord and turn your tool on to its highest speed setting. Apply the cutting tool lightly to the pipe to begin cutting. Don't force the cutting tool; allow the cutter to do the work for you. You should feel the cutting wheel break through the pipe after a few seconds.
-
Step 4
Once you cut through the pipe, move the cutting wheel clockwise, keeping just the edge of the wheel working through the pipe. After the cut is complete, use the rod file to clean up any burrs and to create a smooth surface.
