Things You'll Need:
- A basic working knowlege of crochet and crochet terms
- some yarn and a hook to practise with
-
Step 1
Chain three at the beginning of the row where the stitches are to be decreased. Skip the first stitch the way you normally would. Wind the yarn around the hook and insert the hook into the next stitch.
-
Step 2
Wind yarn around the hook and pull through the first loop. Wind yarn around the hook, and pull it through the first two loops on hook. Wind yarn around the hook and insert it into the next stitch. Wind yarn around the hook and pull a loop through. There should now be four loops on the hook.
-
Step 3
Wind yarn around the hook, and pull it through the first two loops. There should not be three loops on the hook. Wind yarn around the hook and draw it through the last three loops. Two doubles have been worked together to decrease one stitch.
-
Step 4
Work one double into each double in the previous row until three stitches remain unworked. Don't forget, the turning chain counts as one stitch!
-
Step 5
Work the next two doubles together in the same way as at the beginning of the row. You have just decreased one stitch at the end of the row. Work the last double into the turning chain of the previous row.
