Make Natural Hair Rinse
Make Natural Hair Rinse

If you want shiny, healthy looking hair, you can make your own natural hair rinse at home without the use of any harsh chemicals or ingredients. Simply follow the recipe below, which uses cider vinegar and essential oil. This natural hair rinse should be used just after shampooing and rinsing the suds from your hair, as part of the final rinse.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 cup Tablespoons Water
  • 3 Tablespoons Cider Vinegar
  • Essential Oil (12 drops, optional)
  1. Step 1

To a bottle or large container, add 1 cup of water. Spring water is best, but you can also use tap water.

  2. Step 2

Add 3 tablespoons of cider vinegar. Cider vinegar (also called apple cider vinegar) can be bought at most supermarkets, and is a vinegar made from unprocessed apple cider.

  3. Step 3

Add up to 12 drops of essential oil suitable for hair. This is optional.

You may want to choose an oil with properties that match your hair needs. Carrot oil is often recommended to enhance red hair, while sage is good for brunettes, and chamomile or lemon essential oil is good for blonds. Dry hair can benefit from rosemary, geranium, or sandalwood. Thyme or rosemary are commonly recommended for people with dry scalp. Dandruff responds well to thyme, eucalyptus, and/or sage. Lavender is a good all purpose essential oil.

  4. Step 4

Mix the above ingredients well. Use in the final rinse on freshly washed hair.

Tips & Warnings
  • It is recommended that you do a patch test before using any essential oil.
  • Avoid getting this mixture near your eyes or mucus membranes.
