Online stock market trading is a great way to make money. It also can be much faster to buy and sell stocks without having to call your stock broker.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Find a company.
There are many different websites that will allow you to trade stocks online, some of these include sharebuilder and etrade. Once you have found a website that you would like to use to start online stock market trading you need to sign up. When signing up to trade online be aware that you will have to share some very personal information with these websites, such as a social security number. This is for tax information and to verify who you are. If you are using a trusted website your information will stay safe.

  2. Step 2

What are you wanting to do?
Depending on what you are wanting to do when you are trading stocks, there might be extra steps. For example, if you are wanting to trade stock options some websites require you to apply for them. This can sometimes take over a week to be approved so if you think that you are going to want to trade stock options go ahead and apply. When you are online stock market trading you can do the same things that stock brokers are able to do at just a click of a button.

  3. Step 3

    Commissions.
Just like when you go through a stock broker to buy stocks there will be fees. Most online stock market trading websites will be far cheaper than using a stock broker. While a stock broker makes decisions with your money, they also take a portion as well. With trading online you are able to keep all of your profits, except for what you have paid in commissions. If you know what you are doing, online stock market trading can be highly profitable. Some traders even make a living without even having to leave the comfort of their own home.
