If you have an electrical leaf blower, you will need a long enough extension cord to move the blower around the yard. Plug the extension cord into an open outlet and plug the other end into the leaf blower. Turn the switch on. You will now be able to clean your yard.

Gas powered leaf blowers will require a few extra steps. First, fill the leaf blower tank with gasoline.

Prime the gas tank a few times to get gasoline into the engine. There should be a pump somewhere on the engine of your particular leaf blower. Press the pump three or four times.

Most gas powered leaf blowers have a lever which determines the amount of choke for the engine. Move the lever to the full choke position and pull the cord. The engine should sputter a bit and then die out. If the engine doesn't make any noise continue to pull the cord until you hear sputtering.

Move the lever to the half choke position and pull the rip cord. The engine begin to sputter but this time it won't die out. Once it has been doing this for a few seconds, press the lever into the no choke position which will start the engine completely.

Tips & Warnings
There are several pros and cons to each type of blower. An electrical blower will never need to be refueled, but a gas powered blower will not be hindered by an extension cord. Purchase the one which works best for your yard.
Don't prime the pump on the engine too many times or else you will flood the engine and you will not be able to start the blower
