Digital Concept converter drives are small thumb drives used to transmit the data stored on a digital memory card onto a computer. The converter drive is connected to a standard USB port on the computer with a USB cord. Before a computer will recognize the Digital Concept device, the appropriate device drivers must be installed. Digital Concepts converter drives come with a CD-ROM that includes the drivers necessary for the computer to recognize the converter drive.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Digital Concepts converter drive
  • Digital Concepts driver CD-ROM
  • USB cord
  1. Step 1

Insert the CD-ROM that came with the Digital Concepts converter drive into the CD drive of your computer. If the Digital Concepts CD-ROM does not automatically launch, open the computer's "Start" menu and click on "My Computer."

  2. Step 2

Find the CD drive that contains the Digital Concept CD-ROM on the "My Computer" screen. Double-click the device icon to launch the driver set-up.

  3. Step 3

Follow the Digital Concept set-up screens that appear on the screen. Most of the set-up process is automated and the necessary drivers will install automatically.

  4. Step 4

Monitor the progress of the driver installation on the screen. A message will appear on the screen when the set-up is complete.

  5. Step 5

Test to ensure that the drivers were installed correctly by attaching the Digital Concepts converter drive to the computer with the USB cord. Plug a memory card into the device and wait for the computer to recognize the device. When it does, a small device menu should automatically pop up. Select the "Open Folder" option to view the contents of the memory card.

Tips & Warnings
  • Windows XP, ME and 2000 should automatically recognize the Digital Concepts converter drive without needing to install the drivers. Instead, a message will appear the first time that the Digital Concepts converter drive is plugged into the computer stating that the device is being installed.
