Instructions

  1. Cutting Paving Stones

    • 1

Choose the stone you wish to cut and begin by making a mark on the spot you wish to cut.

    • 2

Using a diamond tip-blade masonry saw, cut the stone along the marked line without putting too much pressure on the saw. Pushing down too hard while cutting can result in a curved cut, which will make it much more difficult to fit in with the other stones.

    • 3

Place the newly cut stone into its intended place and fill in any remaining gaps between stones with masonry sand. Gaps should be no larger than 3/8 of an inch between stones to ensure they remain compacted together once building has been completed.

    • 4

Continue cutting stones as needed until you have finished the patio.
