How to Disable CD Emulation Software

CD Emulation software can be very beneficial if you do a lot of work with .ISO files. ISO files are CD image files. Tthey are the exact contents of a CD archived to a computer file. CD Emulation software enables you to access the contents of the ISO file without actually burning it to a physical CD. Certain new games and other types of computer programs won't install if you have CD Emulation software on your computer. You must first disable it before using these programs.

      Press the "CTRL," "ALT" and "DEL" keys on your keyboard at the same time.

      Select the "Start Task Manager" option. Note that if you are using a version of Windows that is Windows XP or earlier, this step is unnecessary, as the Task Manager will have automatically started.

      Click on the "Processes" tab.

      Click on the box that reads "Description." This will sort all of the processes running on your computer in alphabetical order by their names.

      Locate the name of the CD Emulation software that is currently in use on your computer. Click on it one time to select it, and then click on the "End Process" button. A screen will appear asking you to confirm your selection. Select "End Process." This will disable the CD Emulation software on your computer.
