Things You'll Need:
- Graphic design layout program (like Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, or Quark)
- Image editing software
-
Step 1
Decide on the trim size for your club party card. The smaller the better---four by six and smaller cards are ideal. 4.25 by 2.75 is also a popular size. Use Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, or a similar graphic design program to create your party flyer.
-
Step 2
Open a new document that is the size of your flyer, but add an additional 1/8 of an inch around the border. For instance, for a 4.25 by 2.75 flyer, the document size should b 4.5 by three inches. Open an identical document if you plan to have a back to your flyer.
-
Step 3
Choose a neutral background for your flyer. This can be black, white, gray, or brown (very dark or very light tan). Choose two colors for your text---one for the headline and one for your event details (smaller text). You can also use the same text color throughout, but no more than two or three.
-
Step 4
Type an exciting headline for your club party on the front of your card. For instance, "Dance All Night at Club Fame." Some people also find success with using popular song titles as the headline for a club flyer to get people in the mood for dancing.
-
Step 5
Write the details about the party on the opposite side (back) of the party card. Include the date, time, place, cost, age minimums, and dress code for the club.
-
Step 6
Add images to make your club party card more interesting. Spend some time clipping off the white space surrounding each image using the eraser tool in an image editing software program (preferably Photoshop). It looks more professional and allows you to position text around the image. Add a glow around the edges of the image if you wish.
-
Step 7
Position your images so that they are either behind the text (only if the text contrasts strongly against the image) or so that they are next to the words. For instance, you might type in a headline that is left-aligned on the left side of the card, then place an image of an attractive "party-goer" on the right hand side.
-
Step 8
Save each file as a PDF or TIF and then email or upload it to your printing service provider.
