How to Remove Crazy Glue From Finger Nails

Crazy Glue is a powerful adhesive that works well holding things together. Many people even use Crazy Glue to apply false nails to their fingers. Sometimes even after the nails are removed, the glue still remains on the fingernails. Crazy Glue can also get on fingernails while simply working with the glue on other projects. No matter how the Crazy Glue got there, you most likely want it off of your fingernails. It is possible to remove Crazy Glue from fingernails with the proper measures.

Things You'll Need

• Old bowl
• Vaseline
• Acetone nail polish remover
• Cuticle pusher
• Soap and water
• Nail buffer
• Cotton balls

Instructions

1. Fill an old bowl with about one inch of acetone nail polish remover. Make sure the bowl is one that you will not mind discarding if need be. Acetone may stain the bowl, leaving a haze on it that cannot be removed.

2. Apply Vaseline to the outer skin of the fingernails. Use a generous amount of Vasloline to protect your skin from the acetone nail polish remover.

3. Place your fingers in the bowl of acetone, and soak them for 10 minutes. You only need to submerge the tips of your fingers.

4. Remove your fingers from the bowl after 10 minutes has elapsed. Use a cuticle pusher to scrape the glue from the fingernails.

5. Repeat this process of soaking the nails for 10 minutes, then scraping the glue until all of the Crazy Glue has been removed from the fingernails. The glue will likely come off in layers, depending on how thick the Crazy Glue is on the fingernails.

6. Wash your hands thoroughly in soapy water once all of the glue has been removed. Use a nail buffer to smooth out any rough patches on the fingernails from the Crazy Glue.

7. Dab acetone nail polish remover onto the fingernails using a cotton ball if you would prefer not to soak your fingers. While soaking will be the most effective and quickest method, you can generously blot the acetone on the fingernails with a cotton ball, let it sit on the nail for 10 minutes and scrape it off.
