Instructions

    • 1

Measure the length of your shower from one wall to the other, and add about six to eight inches.

    • 2

Measure the height of your shower starting at the shower curtain rod. Measure down to where you want your curtain to stop. Add a few inches for the hem (depending on how wide you want the base hem).

    • 3

Place your drapes side by side. Overlap one on top of the other where they meet in the middle. Overlap them at about one and a half inches (where you will sew them together), and pin the panels together.

    • 4

Take the pinned drapes over to your sewing machine, and carefully sew a strait seam down the middle attaching the two panels.

    • 5

Use the measurements from steps 1 and 2 and make the proper adjustments. Cut the fabric, and hem the bottom and sides so it drapes evenly and fits your shower. Use the sewing machine to create a strait and tidy hem.

    • 6

Measure the top of your shower curtain. Determine how far apart you want your grommets. Measure and mark them all equally (about two to three inches). Attach your grommets with the eyelet pliers. (See References.) Be sure they are all lined up exactly next to each other so your new shower curtain will be sure to hang beautifully.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you have a solid colored shower curtain, dress it up a little with some decorator shower curtain hangers. Most hardware stores and many other stores like Target and Walmart have cool designer shower curtain hangers that can add a special touch to your bathroom.

  • Read the instructions on how to use the eyelet pliers for attaching the grommets. Keep clumsy hands free from danger.
