1
Prepare the pot. If you want to paint your pot, spray paint it and allow it to dry for one to two hours. Then, place the small foam ball in the bottom of the pot and use your screwdriver to make a hole in the top of the ball.
-
2
Cut one wooden dowel (1/2-inch-diameter) 12 inches long for each topiary. Spray paint the wooden dowel a complementary color to your flowers and the decorative marbles or stones. Allow dowel to dry for about an hour.

3
Cut the stems of your greenery and flowers so they are about the size of a toothpick. Push the stems into the foam heart until the foam is completely covered.
-
4
Drill a small hole into the bottom of the foam heart and push one end of the wooden dowel into the hole. Push the other end of the dowel into the foam ball in the pot so the topiary stands on its own.
-
5
Pour accent stones or marbles over the foam ball to cover it and to help the wooden dowel stand up straight. If there is too much space between the foam ball and the top of your pot, stuff some newspaper in the extra space before pouring the stones or marbles on top.

Tips & Warnings
Be careful when you're using your screwdriver to make the holes in the foam. You don't want to crack or break the foam.
