When you see that girl, your stomach does flops and your heart slides into fifth gear. You KNOW you like this chick, but you're just so insecure! How can you keep from screwing this up ... again?

Difficulty: Challenging
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Practice
  • Honesty
  • Hard work
  • Exercise
  1. Step 1
Well, it's time you decided, dude ...

Well, it's time you decided, dude ...

"I don't know what I want." Some guys screw up relationships because they don't know where they're going in life. "How can I get serious with this chick if I don't know what I want for supper - let alone in five years?" Good question. Stop worrying so much. Guys like this just ooze insecurity. Girls want to be with guys that at least PRETEND to face the future with confidence.

  2. Step 2
She's probably wondering the same thing.

She's probably wondering the same thing.

"I don't know where she's at!" Umm ... light bulb moment. If you've been dating for a while, chances are good she's really in to you. Don't expect her to rent an airplane and smoke WILL YOU MARRY ME across the sky though, dude. Man up and ask her. "Where do you see us going?"

  3. Step 3
Insecure guys worry about money ...

Insecure guys worry about money ...

"I don't make enough money." It comes as a shock to most guys that girls are more into THEM than they are into STUFF. In fact, a cheap gift given with love means a heck of a lot more than a thoughtless gift card to Sephora. (Though chicks dig that too.)

  4. Step 4
    Baggage?

    Baggage?

"I've got baggage." Awww ... isn't that touching. Believe us, dude - that information does NOT come out of your mouth unless you want a best friend - not a girlfriend.

  5. Step 5
    Insecure? Or selfish?

    Insecure? Or selfish?

"She's got baggage." Dude. Cinderella got kicked around by her stepsisters and scrubbed fireplaces for a living. THAT'S baggage. You're just going to have to deal with the fact that we live in an imperfect, fallen world. Everybody's got hurt in their life. There's another word for this insecurity: selfishness.

  6. Step 6
    You're getting her too.

    You're getting her too.

"I don't like her mom." No, what you're really saying is, "I don't have enough guts to tell her that her mom is annoying and she's not going to be welcome in our home." See? That really sounds like the bad guy. But she probably thinks the same about your mom. And she wants to know that you're not about to let some other woman push you around.

  7. Step 7
That's the least of your problems ...

That's the least of your problems ...

"I don't know where I want to live." Okay, man. That's the kind of stuff real couples have to deal with. Why not get a head start? Ask your chick some questions about where she sees herself living. And don't be afraid that this will come on as "too strong." Girls will be pleased that you're thinking of practical things.
