The first option is to decrease the file size. This can be done in a couple different ways. Unfortunately both result in lowering the video quality. If you are recording in HD, switching to standard can decrease the file size considerably. If you have a HD movie already recorded you can still shrink the file size. There are a number of programs you can download that can compress the file to make uploading faster. Either way you sacrifice quality, but it may be necessary.

Step 2
Stop all other internet activity. Playing online games, downloading on iTunes, watching YouTube videos all slow down the upload process. Pause all other downloads, close your games, and go offline for bit. This is sure to help you upload videos on YouTube faster.

If neither of the first two steps were effective then your internet service may be lacking or experiencing issues. There is one more option though. It works well for some and doesn't work at all for others. The busiest upload time is from early to late evening. Try to schedule around this. The most frustration free way to do it is to start the upload just before you go to bed. Avoiding high traffic gives you anther way to speed up video uploads.
