Things You'll Need:
- Deep Conditioner

- SPF Hair Protection
- Temporary Hair Color (Optional)

Step 1
Lighten up. Lighter hair brightens the face and makes it glow, while too dark hair makes the face look paler and more drawn. You don't have to go blonde, but a few face framing highlights will take years off of a face. Opt for warmer tones as ash tends to age.
-
Step 2
Get some bangs and layers. Hair that is all one length pulls the look of the face down, but a few layers will add lift and make hair look fuller. Bangs will frame the face and hide those telltale forehead lines. Avoid bangs that are too short. Opt for longer thicker bangs instead.
-
Step 3
Watch your length. Long hair is younger, but don't go too long as it can have the opposite effect. A good length is between the top of the shoulders and the bottom of the shoulder blades.
-
Step 4
Keep it shiny and moveable. Shiny bouncy hair exudes youth. Deep condition a couple of times a week to keep hair moisturized and prevents breakage. Shine serums added to damp hair will give hair daily boost of shine.
-
Step 5
Protect hair from the sun. We all know the sun ages skin, but it can age hair as well. Use products with SPF protection to keep your locks looking younger. For maximum protection, wear a hat during long periods in the sun.
-
Step 6
Protect your color with shampoos and conditioners made specifically for color-treated hair. This will not only make your hair look healthy and natural, it can save you money on color touch-ups by extending the life of your color.
