If you are trying to lose weight write down you weight loss goal for the month. Once you write it down you are a lot more committed.A recent Yale study discovered taht people who write down their goals are ten times more likely to reach them! So buy a little notebook and write down your long and short term goals.

Make a big pot of soup, vegetable or onion is best, and keep it in the fridge. You are allowed to eat as much as you want. If you are about to dive, headfirst, into a bowl of cheese dip, have a bowl of hot soup first. This really helps if you are a nervous eater of you snack when you are bored and restless.

Step 3
Before you go out to a restaurant, look at yourself naked in a full length mirror. Then, when you get to the restaurant, you will be far more likely to make healthy choices.

If you screw up and buy a giant bag of cashews or trail mix, both are healthy but loaded with calories, get a handful then put the rest in the trunk of your car. Remember, put the bag in the trunk, not the back seat. If it tastes really good you'll go digging for that bag at the first red light, not because you are weak, but you are human.

Step 5
Weigh yourself once or twice a week and be proud when you make progress. Don't beat yourself up because you didn't lose ten pounds in the first week, be happy when you lose two pounds and celebrate. Buy new panties, makeup or a CD. That makes everybody feel better.

Step 6
Go outside, walk around, rake leaves, take pictures of your dog. It's almost always easier to burn calories and avoid snacking outside.
