Step 1
First, teach your child to smile. You can enforce this habit in your child by smiling a lot yourself. Social psychologists will teach you behavior follows feelings, meaning smile, and then your likely to be happy.

Step 2
Diet and exercise. This is cliche, but if your children eat junk food they will feel the high, and then they will crash. It can be tiresome to get these highs and lows and it is not physically healthy.

Step 3
Enroll them in a sport or music program. Our American lives are already booked to the max, but make sure you save the time and money so they can partake in extra curricular activities. It would be the best if you or your partner were able to get your children to engage in both sports and music to encourage both sides of their brains, also ones competitive and the other usually isn't.
