Preparing your eyes: Before you apply any eyeshadow, make sure you have a blank palette. Apply concealer around your eyes. This will create smooth and uniform skin.

      light base color

Applying your base color. Choose two eyeshadow colors that contrast. One dark eyeshadow, and another light (base). Good options are: purple & gold, peach & green, bronze and brown, mustard & blue. For this eye I am using peach and olive green. Apply it on your entire lid and under your eye, half of the outer end.

Applying the second eyeshadow: Apply the dark eyeshadow color to your crease and work it inwards. Keep working the eyeshadow in the crease until you are satisfied with the look. Blend, blend, and blend! with a makeup brush blend the dark eyeshadow line along the crease.

Liner & Highlighting: Take a very light eyeshadow color and highlight your tear ducts and the area under your eyebrows. This will define your brow bone nicely. Apply eyeliner around your eyes the way you usually do.

Finalize: Apply mascara to finalize the look. If you want to go less dramatic, apply either clear mascara or Vaseline and brush through your eyelashes.

Tips & Warnings

  • You have full control over the look. For a very dramatic look, go for a medium toned color and black shadow. For more of a subtly look, go with neutral colors and eyeliner only on your top lash line. Good luck!
