Finding Christmas gifts for your husband can sometimes be a challenge, especially if you are not asking the right questions. As a husband and a dad myself, I know I have been difficult to buy for in the past.

Many husbands, going back to their primal purpose, have the role of the provider for their family. The thought of asking someone to provide for them may be a stretch. There are ways to find great presents for husbands. This article can help you this Christmas.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Pay attention to your husband's interests. You may not enjoy football, fishing, woodworking, technology, etc. but your husband may. Husbands love the feeling of respect that is gained when their interests are considering important to their wife. Ask questions in way to not be consider nosey, but respectful.

  2. Step 2

When you are out shopping with them, notice some of the items that you think they would enjoy. Ask questions and get some feedback. If you do not normally go to a store with the items that they might like, make a special trip to do so. For example if they like hunting or fishing, so to a store like Bass Pro Shops or Cabela's with your family. The trip is worth going if you have kids since it is like a museum. Along the way ask about things you think might interest your husband. If you are getting no feedback, then be direct, say "there are a lot of neat things here, what do you like?".

  3. Step 3

Consider the following specialty stores. There are many others but this will help get you started.

Hunting, fishing, camping: Gander Mountain, Cabela's, Bass Pro Shops

Sporting Goods: MC Sports, Sports Authority, Amazon (online), Starstruck (online)

Technology: Best Buy, Wal-mart, Target, Sears, Newegg (online), Amazon (online)

Football: college football (college website or store), NFL (amazon, starstruck or local sporting goods store)

Woodworking: Sears, Harbor Freight tools, Lowes, Home Depot, Lee Valley Tools (online)

Art: Hobby Lobby, Dick Blick, Michaels, ebay (no returns)

Automotive repair: Autozone, Pepboys, Auto Parts Warehouse (online), JC Witney (online)

Electronics: Radio Shack, Mouser (online), Jameco (online), BG Micro (online)

  4. Step 4

Make sure that what you buy is returnable. Even though you try your best to get the perfect Christmas gift for him, he still may not have communicated very well with you. Make sure he understands that you will not be offended if the gift is returned. Husband's are not good with two things communication and returns. Remember, they are the gatherer not the take it back to the store and plead for a return specialist. You husband will understand that you wanted to please him and will be grateful whether he expresses this to you or not.
