Things You'll Need:
- Rotary Tool
- Sanding Band accessory
- Multi-Vice
- Sanding & Grinding Guide for the rotary tool
-
Step 1
When using the sanding and grinding guide, always secure either your work piece so you can guide the tool over it or, secure the tool with a Multi-Vise so you can guide the work piece over the sanding band. For the best sanding results either the tool or the piece must remain stationary.
-
Step 2
Practice sanding first. We recommend you experiment on scrap wood first using various tool speeds to determine the best results for your project.
-
Step 3
When cleaning up an edge that is perpendicular to the surface of your work piece, keep the top of the guide flush against the surface of the work piece.
-
Step 4
Keep your movement slow and steady while going over your piece. Repeat the process until you’re satisfied with the edge’s smoothness. After each pass check the edge. This will ensure that you don't over-sand the area.
-
Step 5
The sanding and grinding guide can be used for both flat and beveled edges. For a 45-degree bevel, rest the face of the sanding and grinding guide on the surface of your work piece.
