How to Mix Simple Green

Simple Green is a biodegradable de-greaser that comes in a spray bottle or a concentrated solution that needs to be diluted with water. You can use simple green as a multipurpose cleaner in your kitchen to remove grease or in your garage to remove tar from your vehicle. Simple Green is mixed with water for a solution that is used for light, medium and heavy uses. You can mix Simple Green by first making sure you have the proper supplies.

Things You'll Need:

    Spray Bottle

  1. Step 1

    Choose the type of container that you want to use for the Simple Green solution. You can make 1 cup, 1 pint, 1 quart or 1 gallon. The typical container size is a spray bottle that is about 1 quart or the size of a 32-ounce container.

  2. Step 2

    Decide on the type of strength that is needed for the solution. The solution strength will depend on how the Simple Green needs to be used. You will want to make a heavy mix of the solution to remove grime and grease from your kitchen.

  3. Step 3

    Add 2 cups of Simple Green to a 32-ounce spray bottle.

  4. Step 4

    Place a strip of masking tape on the bottle and label it with a marker.

  5. One-Gallon Container

  6. Step 1

    Add 8 cups of Simple Green to a plastic 1 gallon container or a milk jug.

  7. Step 2

    Add 8 cups of water to the 1 gallon container or milk jug.

  8. Step 3

    Place the cap on the container and lightly mix the solution.

  9. Step 4

    Pour the solution into a container such as a spray bottle or small cup depending on how much of the solution you need to use.

Tips & Warnings
  • When using a spray bottle you can add the simple green and then fill the bottle up to the neck with water.
  • Cleaning solutions that do not have proper labels can be misused or ingested unknowingly.
