Step 1
Gather all the wigs you'd like to donate, and determine which ones are fit to give away. Only donate wigs that are in good condition--if you wouldn't wear it yourself, then no one else will want to, either.
-
Step 2
Use your local phone book--both on and offline--and make a list of the cancer treatment centers in your area.
-
Step 3
Contact the cancer treatment centers on your list and see if they can accept wig donations, and what their guidelines are.
-
Step 4
Resource titled "Wig Donation Contacts" and contact the organizations on the list via email. These organizations are wig donation centers that will be able to distribute your donations to those who are suffering from medical hair loss but do not have the money to purchase a wig.
-
Step 5
Look up your local chapters of the American Cancer Society, American Hair Loss Association and National Alopecia Areata Foundation. They may be able to take your wig donations and distribute them within your community.
