1
Include your job objective as it relates to the position you hope to get. This is usually the first part of the resume that employers will notice. Besides stating what kind of position you want, indicate how you can specifically benefit the employer with your skills and experience.
-
2
Use action words. When stating job duties, use words such as "accomplished," "analyzed," "established," "evaluated," "implemented," "recommended" and "reviewed." Using action words will help employers focus on your accomplishments thus far in your career.

-
3
Write in the present tense. This will help employers keep in mind your professional accomplishments in your former jobs and your current one. The present tense also reads stronger than the past tense.
-
4
Prepare a reference list. Rather than indicating on your resume that you can provide references if requested, prepare on a separate sheet a detailed reference list so employers can check them immediately.
-
5
Don't include information about your personal life. Such detail will leave less space available for the information that will sell the employer on why he or she should hire you. Stick to details about your work experience, skills and accomplishments.
