How to Identify Small Yellow Pills
For nearly every health condition, there is a corresponding pill on the market to either treat it or cure it. Many of us will take several types of over-the-counter and prescription medications over the course of our lives. In any household, it is possible to have several different types of pills or tablets, including small yellow pills. If you ever find unknown pills, you should identify them before using them.

Examine the yellow pills for any identifying characteristics. Note their shape, size and any colored patterns on the pills. Do they have any imprinting on them, including numbers, names or logos?

Compare the yellow pills to any other medications that may already be in your home. They may have been separated from a container of medication.

Input the description of the yellow pills into a pill identification tool. (See resources.) The pill identification tool will ask you for the identifying characteristics of the yellow pills. Input the information you noted in Step 1.

If you still cannot identify the small yellow pills, take them to your pharmacist or doctor for identification. The staff in these offices are often able identify unknown pills.

If you cannot identify the yellow pills from any of the above steps, they are likely illegal drugs or foreign medication. In either case, they are not approved by the Federal Drug Administration.
Do not take or administer any medication that you cannot positively identify. Dispose of all unknown drugs to avoid dangerous side effects or legal consequences.
