How to Use Vinegar for Removing Wallpaper Paste
Wallpaper is a decorating item that often goes out of style after a few years. Once you decide to redecorate a room with wallpaper, the removal process can be quite tedious. Things You'll Need
- Vinegar
- Sponge
- Gloves
- Mask
- Water
- Scraper
- Cloths
- Bucket
- Spray bottle
- Fan

Place towels or cloths on the floor below to catch any loose pieces of sheet rock or liquid drops from the water and vinegar mixture, as this will help protect your floors. Put the gloves and mask on and begin to strip the wallpaper from the walls.

Fill your bucket with a 1/2 gallon of hot water and add one cup of white vinegar and mix. Pour the mixture into a spray bottle and cover the entire wall surface. Allow the spray to sit for 10 to 15 minutes.

Push the sponge into the bucket mixture and wipe down the glue spots left on the wall. You may have to apply pressure in some of the baked-on areas in order to loosen the particles.

Take the wall scraper and remove any remaining glue spots or areas that may need smoothing out. Wipe the sponge across the surface and clean thoroughly, then rinse the sponge in the bucket and repeat, as needed.

Pouring new clean hot water into the bucket again, rinse the sponge and clean the walls once more. Make sure the surface is clean and smooth. You can dry with towels or point a fan at the walls to dry.
