The winter months bring out the rock salt, especially in areas that receive a large amount of snow. The combination of rock salt and calcium chloride seems to stain clothes in a bad way. In most cases, any salt can be removed from clothing through regular laundering in a cold wash cycle. But most is not all, so with just a little extra work, you can have all your clothes salt-free in no time.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 tbsp white vinegar
  • Soft-bristled toothbrush
  1. Step 1

Remove any visible clumps of salt.

  2. Step 2

Mix 1 tablespoon of white vinegar and 1 cup of water. Pour half of the vinegar mixture on the salt stain.

  3. Step 3

Brush firmly with a soft-bristled toothbrush for 3 to 5 minutes.

  4. Step 4

Rinse the area with the other half of the vinegar mixture. Don't worry about doing a good rinsing.

  5. Step 5

Launder as usual in a cold wash cycle.
