How to Diffuse Essential Oils with Reeds

Aromatherapy is the use of essential plant oils to promote physical and mental well-being. The history of aromatherapy dates back to ancient Chinese customs of burning incense. Diffusing essential oils with reeds is a popular way to enjoy the benefits of aromatherapy right in your own home or office.

Things You'll Need

• Vegetable oil
• Essential oils
• Food coloring
• Bowl
• Glass vase or bottle
• Clear marbles or glass bits
• Reeds

Instructions

1. Combine 1/2 cup of vegetable oil with 25 drops of essential oil and 10 drops of any color food coloring in a bowl. Mix these ingredients thoroughly.

2. Fill a glass vase or bottle 1/4 full with the clear marbles or glass bits and pour the mixture in over them.

3. Arrange the reeds in the glass container. Use the marbles to hold the reeds in place in the oil.

4. Place your reed diffuser in a location where the aroma can spread throughout the room. Do not keep it within reach of small children or animals.
