Things You'll Need:
- Scrapbooking papers or embellishments
- Scrapbooking tools
- Spray glue
- Large cardboard box
-
Step 1
Prepare a work area that is in a well-ventilated room for best results. Many spray glues have low odors; however, it is still wise to use these products in an area with sufficient ventilation so that you do not breathe their toxic fumes.
-
Step 2
Work to create the items you will glue. If you need to cut or prepare anything prior to gluing, make sure you complete all of the preparation before you begin to spray the glue.
-
Step 3
Set up the large cardboard box in the work area. The box must be large enough for you to place all the scrapbooking pieces you are spray gluing into the box. Spraying the items in the box will prevent the glue from over-spraying onto other items that you do not want glued.
-
Step 4
Test the spray adhesive prior to gluing anything. Shake the adhesive can and make sure you align the nozzle properly for spraying. Hold the can as upright as possible between 6 and 8 inches away from the inside of the cardboard box. Spray the can onto the inside side of the cardboard box for one or two seconds to test, and then stop. If the can works properly, proceed with your scrapbook gluing.
-
Step 5
Place the first items you wish to glue into the box. Hold the can between 6 and 8 inches away from the surfaces you are gluing and evenly spray the entire area of both surfaces. For best results, start spraying 2 inches to the left of the items, direct the spray over the items, and stop spraying 2 inches to the right of the items. This will ensure complete coverage. Do not overspray or the glue may puddle. Try to make the glue as even and light as possible.
-
Step 6
Wait for 30 seconds after spraying the glue and then place the surfaces together. Smooth the surfaces and edges to ensure the materials are wrinkle-free and have adhered together properly.
