How to Make Centerpieces With Bear Grass
Make your wedding centerpieces using bear grass for an easy-to-put-together DIY (do-it-yourself) centerpiece that will stun your guests. Bear grass adds greenery to your centerpiece with its long, thin strands that can easily be manipulated into what you want. Use the bear grass as your main attraction or as an afterthought in a bouquet of flowers to give the centerpiece a visual lift.

Wash and dry your vases. You want them to be as clean and clear as possible so that the bear grass will be instantly visible. Use traditional round vases or square vases to get the look you want.

Wind pieces of bear grass around the insides of each vase in a spiral-like pattern. The amount of blades you use will depend on your personal taste. Leave some space in-between the blades so you can see through the vase; otherwise, it will just look green.

Add any decorative glass, stones, sand or flower heads you wish to include. Incorporating another element inside the vase can add pops of color, or you can add the extra color in favor boxes or with an individual flower head at each place setting. The bear grass alone, however, provides enough decoration on its own if you don't want to include anything else inside.

Fill the vase about 3/4 of the way full with water. Water that has been slightly tinted blue or a lighter color is another way to incorporate more color or make each centerpiece slightly different from each other.

Place one, two or three small floating candles on the water's surface. Don't light the candles until right before your reception begins. Another option is to float a flower head on top of the water.

Walk around the centerpiece to make sure you like it from all angles. If you're satisfied, repeat these six steps until you have made enough centerpieces for your entire reception.
