- A Faber-Castell Pen Refill FC148760 (black) / FC148761 (blue) in the color of your choice
- Surface space to do the job

Step 1
Separating the bottom from the topGrip the rubber of the bottom half and pull it off of the top half.

Step 2
Unscrewing the "eraser head"Put away the talking top. Grip the white plastic casing and unscrew the white "eraser head" inside the metal casing.

Step 3
Taking out the refillPull out the refill.

Step 4
Removing the "eraser head"Pull the "eraser head" off the "original" generic refill. Don't lose the "eraser head"!

Step 5
The sercret: the true original refill used by the Talking PensAttach the "eraser head" to the new, original German refill from which the generic one that came with the pen was knocked off of.

Step 6
Screwing the "eraser head" in placeInsert the new refill assembly. Secure it by screwing the "eraser head" back in place inside the metal casing.

Step 7
Making the Talking Pen whole again!Align the grooves on the white plastic of the bottom half with the teeth inside the barrel of the top half. Push the two parts back together.

Step 8
Woohoo!Go ahead. See the ink flow and hear the pen talk again. It's Alive! You've beaten the system (pen manufacturer)!
